Trivia:
Often referred to "Plastic Cape" or "Vinyl Cape" Jawa on original 12-back card.
When the original Jawa action figures were produced, they came with a thin vinyl cape. However, with the second wave Jawa figures, the vinyl capes were replaced with sewn cloth robes.
* Due to the high value of these figures, many loose fake vinyl cape Jawa figures have circulated on the collector’s market. For example, some Jawa figures have been found wearing the vinyl cape from a Ben Kenobi figure The vinyl cape version of the figure is so rare that most areas of the United States only received the cloth cape variety.
"It is believed that the reason Kenner replaced the vinyl cape with the cloth robes was to make customers feel that they were getting their money’s worth. Jawa was the smallest figure in the line but cost the same as the other figures. After only six months on the shelves, Kenner replaced the vinyl cape with cloth robes to make it look less cheap."-en.wikicollecting.org

Character Bio Jawas were typically short rodent-like natives of Tatooine. They were passionate scavengers, seeking out technology for sale or trade in the deep deserts in their huge sandcrawler transports. A band of Jawas was responsible for locating C-3PO and R2-D2 and selling them to Luke Skywalker's uncle Owen Lars. |
